YouTube Begins Testing Ahead of Monetization Rollout in Armenia
Tuesday, February 24, 2026
YouTube has begun testing its monetization feature in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday, two weeks after the online video-sharing platform announced that Armenian creators would soon be able to join the YouTube Partner Program.
“Perhaps you’ve noticed that advertisements have started appearing between YouTube videos in Armenia,” Pashinyan said on social media.
“This means that, according to the agreement, YouTube is beginning to activate its monetization tool in Armenia, and testing is currently underway.
This is good news for everyone who believes they can earn money through visual content. In other words, these ads mean that the owners of relevant channels will also be able to generate income. With this step, we are making significant progress toward integration into the global world.
It is also important to note that YouTube has fairly high standards regarding visual content, which gives hope that the use of this tool will also improve the quality of visual content in our country. And, of course, a new source of income is emerging for content creators. We can congratulate them and express hope that their content will be as knowledge-based and aesthetically grounded as possible. And, of course, we hope that it will contribute to the improvement of our public relations,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
