The City of Yerevan will inaugurate a statue to the late legendary French-Armenian artist Charles Aznavour on July 18, city officials announced Monday.
Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan said at a City Hall meeting that the statue is being sculpted in Gyumri. It will be completed this week.
“We will have the statue installed on July 16 in the Charles Aznavour square [in Yerevan], and two days later we will be able to hold the official opening,” he said, adding that French municipal officials have expressed desire to attend the ceremony.
