The U.S. Embassy's Senior Defense Official Colonel Matthew Crowe presented the Legion of Merit to Colonel Arman Mkrtchyan in recognition of his "exemplary service as the Armenian Defense Attaché to the United States," the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan said in a statement.
Throughout his tenure, Colonel Mkrtchyan, now retired, provided “superb planning, collaboration, and oversight for our countries’ bilateral dialogues and engagements between the seniormost leaders in the U.S. and Armenian armies."
“Colonel Mkrtchyan’s efforts directly contributed to the deepening of the U.S.-Armenian defense relationship, strengthening security cooperation and training between our militaries. The United States thanks Colonel Mkrtchyan for his dedicated service and leadership,” the U.S. Embassy said.
