Two More Armenian Anniversaries Included in UNESCO Calendar of Famous People and Important Events for 2026–2027

The 43rd General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), held in Samarkand, has decided to include the 150th anniversary of the birth of prominent Armenian linguist and academician Hrachya Acharyan (1876–1953), as well as the 100th anniversary of the start of the construction of Yerevan’s Republic Square (1927), in the UNESCO Calendar of Famous People and Important Events for 2026–2027.
Since 1998, 31 anniversaries submitted by the Republic of Armenia have been included in the UNESCO Calendar of Famous People and Important Events.
