Overwhelming Majority of Exported Brandy is Top Quality, Says Economy Minister
Wednesday, July 30, 2025
Most of the exported bottled brandy has proper quality and meets all required standards, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan has said.
In a post on social media, Minister Papoyan presented the Armenian brandy exports statistics.
“As you know, during the visit to Georgia we agreed to set up a working group composed of representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Economy and Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Environment to resolve the issues that had emerged during Armenian brandy exports. As a result of daily work, I can already note that the brandy export issue has been mostly resolved. For example, yesterday our Georgian partners provided us with new data, which shows that 27 trucks loaded with bottled brandy were cleared to exit the Gezi customs checkpoint during the day, and 1 vehicle did not pass the inspection. This data proves that the overwhelming majority of exported bottled brandy from Armenia (in this case over 96%) has proper quality and meets all standards of brandy,” the minister said, expressing gratitude to brandy producers for patience, understanding and the high-quality production.
