Armenia is officially joining the ranks of countries with global artificial intelligence infrastructure after Eleveight AI opened the first AI factory in the country, located in Gagarin, Gegharkunik Province.

Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan was among the participants in the inauguration ceremony of the next-generation AI data center, powered by NVIDIA Blackwell B300 GPUs. 

The new center is designed to support large-scale artificial intelligence computing, ranging from AI model training to business, scientific, and engineering applications.

In the first phase of the Gagarin AI Factory, 512 GPUs have been deployed. The center currently operates with 1.2 megawatts of electrical capacity. This is planned to be increased first to 5 megawatts and, in the final phase, to 35 megawatts. This expansion will make it possible to multiply the center’s computing capacity, deploy thousands of next-generation AI processors, and establish it as a regional artificial intelligence infrastructure hub.

The initial investment in the project amounts to $120 million.

“In the era of artificial intelligence, computing power has become strategic infrastructure. Armenia should not only follow these changes but also participate in shaping them. Eleveight AI was created precisely for this purpose—to build world-class AI infrastructure in the region, placing Armenia on the global technology map,” said Arman Aleksanyan, co-founder and CEO of Eleveight AI.

The state-of-the-art infrastructure was built according to NVIDIA Reference Architecture standards, meaning that international technology companies and research teams can move and deploy their AI projects in Armenia without additional technical integration challenges.

Beyond its exceptional technological capabilities, the project is based on the principle of environmental responsibility. The infrastructure operates on a “zero chemical footprint” model.

Thanks to Gagarin’s high-altitude climate and engineered airflow solutions, the system uses natural cooling mechanisms for 11 months of the year, eliminating the use of chemical cooling agents. The company also owns its own solar power plants, ensuring full control over clean energy use and long-term sustainability.

Emphasizing innovation and contributing to Armenia’s technological sovereignty and ecosystem development, Eleveight AI has allocated 20% of its total computing capacity to Armenian universities, research centers, and non-profit initiatives, with the aim of unlocking local talent and fostering scientific innovation.
