Nearly 3,600 Foreign Nationals Obtain Temporary or Permanent Residency Status in Armenia in Past Six Months

1,815 foreign nationals were granted temporary residency status in Armenia in January-June 2025, while another 1,775 obtained permanent residency status, according to the Statistical Committee.
Temporary residency status (638 persons on the basis of family reunification, 769 on the basis of obtaining education, 398 on the basis of entrepreneurship, and 10 on the basis of Armenian ethnicity). Most recipients were Russians – 474 persons. 466 were Indians and 293 were Iranian citizens.
Permanent residency status (1,315 persons on the basis of Armenian ethnicity, 251 on the basis of entrepreneurship, 209 on the basis of having resided in the country for at least three years). Most permanent residency status recipients were Russians – 970 persons, as well as 143 Georgian nationals, 117 Syrian nationals, 113 Ukrainian nationals and 48 Lebanese nationals.
