Here are the current numbers of novel coronavirus cases in Los Angeles County and across Southern California:

Los Angeles County: 55,968 confirmed cases, 2,384 deaths

Orange County: 6,474 cases, 147 deaths

Riverside County: 7,982 confirmed cases, 331 deaths

San Bernardino County: 5,355 cases, 204 deaths

Ventura County: 1,152 cases, 34 deaths

San Diego County: 7,554 cases, 269 deaths

Los Angeles County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer confirmed the death of a pregnant woman, whose fetus also died, and the county's first known case of a jail inmate due to the virus.
