France’s Charenton-le-Pont Hosts Armenian Cultural Days

A two-week series of events titled Days of Armenia, Cultural Journey to Armenia kicked off on April 7 in Charenton-le-Pont, France.
Charenton-le-Pont mayor Hervé Gicquel and Armenian Embassy third secretary Shiraz Hovakimyan, as well as Anoush Dourian, the President of the Artmondia association, the organizer of the initiative, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.
Hovakimyan thanked Mayor Gicquel for supporting the launch of the event.
The third secretary said that holding the Armenian cultural events in Charenton-le-Pont, which is home to a small Armenian community compared to other French cities, is a prominent manifestation of the special relationship and friendship based on common values between Armenia and France, the Armenian embassy said in a press release.
The ceremony featured a performance by French-Armenian singer Levon Khozian, pianist and Marseille Conservatory lecturer Jean-Jacques Bédikian and dancer Shushan Agoujian.
