European Shooting Championship Opens in Yerevan

The opening ceremony of the European Shooting Championship took place at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, President of the International Shooting Sport Federation Luciano Rossi, and President of the European Shooting Confederation Alexander Ratner.
The ceremony began with a multimedia presentation showcasing Armenia’s history through video projections and special effects. During the event, the flag of the host country was handed over to the President of the Shooting Federation of Armenia, Artur Hovhannisyan.
Hovhannisyan noted that Armenia is hosting the European Senior Shooting Championship for the first time, describing it as both an honor and a significant responsibility for the country. He emphasized that the championship holds importance not only for European sport but also for Armenia’s sporting life.
Minister Andreasyan stated that hosting the tournament represents both a major responsibility and an important opportunity to once again present Armenia as a platform capable of organizing high-level international competitions.
In his remarks, Ratner praised Armenia’s efforts in organizing the championship, noting that the host country had successfully overcome various challenges in preparation for the event.
