Economy Ministry Plans to Spend Over 10 Billion AMD to Boost Agriculture Next Year

For 2026, out of the AMD 74.5 billion budget allocated to the Ministry of Economy, AMD 39.4 billion will be spent on agriculture, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan told lawmakers on Tuesday. 10.1 billion is allocated specifically for agricultural promotion.
“The majority of the Ministry of Economy’s 2026 budget—AMD 39.4 billion—is allocated for the implementation of five programs in the agricultural sector. Overall, our budget is AMD 74.5 billion, of which AMD 39.4 billion is earmarked for agriculture. AMD 10.1 billion is allocated specifically for agricultural promotion,” the minister said at a joint committee meeting in parliament on the 2026 state budget bill.
In particular, AMD 5.3 billion will go toward the implementation of four large investment projects carried over from previous years in the livestock sector, including the construction of two large poultry farms, one pig farm, and one major breeding farm.
