Big construction projects are currently taking place in Glendale. Some are going to be new offices which will provide people with new jobs. The others are going to be new homes.
There is a rumor that the apartments in the newly built buildings are going to have a very high rent as compared to the older prices of apartments in Glendale.
This is scary news for Armenians who live in Glendale, as it means the rent for their current apartments will probably rise too.
There are also rumors that Glendale is planned to be turned into a luxurious and very expensive city to live in. That means that apartment rents will rise immensely, the stores will consist of expensive boutiques and restaurants, etc.
Will that make Armenians move from Glendale to a more affordable city or town?
A similar thing happened a few years ago in Hollywood, when the prices for housing started rising making Armenians move to Glendale. Time will tell, if the rumors are true. But hopefully Armenians living in Glendale will not have to deal with this housing problem.
