Armenia's Permanent Population Increases by 14,300 in 2025

According to current estimates based on the 2022 census, the permanent population of the Republic of Armenia as of October 1, 2025, is 3,090,500 people, the Statistical Committee of Armenia reported.
Of these, 1,977,400 people live in the 49 cities of the republic, and 1,113,100 live in 954 villages.
Preliminary data show that the population of Yerevan stands at 1,144,700, compared to 1,136,300 in 2024. Among the regions, Kotayk has the largest population (296,100), while Vayots Dzor has the smallest (49,600).
From January 1 to October 1, Armenia's permanent population increased by 14,300 people.
In January-September, the natural increase was 4,634. During the same period, 23,698 children were born in Armenia and 19,064 people died, according to the Civil Status Acts Registry. The number of stillbirths was 286.
The sex ratio of newborns remained unchanged from January-September 2024, with 110 boys born for every 100 girls.
In the first nine months of 2025, no maternal deaths were recorded due to pregnancy-related complications or during childbirth and the postpartum period (six cases were registered in the same period of 2024).
During this period, 10,238 marriages and 3,617 divorces were registered in Armenia, that is 353 divorces per 1,000 marriages, compared to 293 last year.
