Ambassador Mkrtchyan, Cypriot Foreign Minister Express Mutual Gratitude for Support in Bilateral Relations

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Cyprus, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos, on the occasion of concluding his diplomatic mission in Cyprus.
According to the Armenian Embassy in Cyprus, Ambassador Mkrtchyan expressed his gratitude for the Cypriot Foreign Minister’s efforts in maintaining the Armenian-Cypriot dialogue at a high level, as a result of which the long-awaited process of opening diplomatic missions in both countries is finally underway.
The Ambassador also briefed Minister Kombos on Armenia’s steps towards signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, reaffirming Armenia's commitment to establishing lasting peace in the region. He also highlighted Armenia’s intention to begin the process of EU membership, noting the ongoing efforts in that direction.
The Cypriot Foreign Minister praised the significant democratic progress Armenia has made in recent years and welcomed the launch of the EU membership process. He expressed Cyprus' full support for Armenia’s efforts to establish regional peace and pursue EU membership.
The interlocutors exchanged views on regional developments and expressed mutual appreciation for the assistance provided on issues of common importance.
They also discussed the possibility of a visit by the Cypriot Foreign Minister to Armenia in the near future.
