Romanov Restaurant and Republic Venue are looking for a Sous Chef who will assist the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations. This role helps manage daily food preparation, staff supervision, menu execution, and kitchen organization to ensure consistent high-quality food service for events, banquets, and regular dining operations.

Kitchen Operations
• Oversee daily food preparation and ensure dishes are presented according to venue standards.
• Assist in planning and executing menus for weddings, banquets, events, and restaurant service.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation.

Staff Leadership
• Supervise kitchen staff during prep and service.
• Train new cooks and assist in ongoing staff development.
• Assign daily tasks and ensure smooth workflow during events and high-volume service.

Food Safety & Sanitation
• Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Monitor food storage, rotation, and proper labeling.
• Ensure the kitchen is always clean, organized, and inspection-ready.

Inventory & Cost Control
• Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing inventory.
• Help control food costs through portion control and minimizing waste.
• Track supply needs and communicate shortages to the Executive Chef.

Event Execution (for venues with events)
• Coordinate kitchen timelines with event managers and front-of-house staff.
• Ensure timely delivery of meal courses during weddings, corporate events, and large banquets.
• Adapt quickly to last-minute menu changes or event-specific needs.
