• Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s overall safety strategy in alignment with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and state regulations.
• Conduct internal safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
• Monitor driver performance through ELDs, dash cams, and telematics data to identify risky behavior and coach accordingly.
• Oversee compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), driver qualification files (DQFs), drug & alcohol testing, and vehicle inspections (DVIR).
• Lead safety meetings, driver training programs, and orientation sessions focused on defensive driving, accident prevention, and regulatory updates.
• Serve as the primary contact for all safety-related matters, including roadside inspections, violations, citations, and compliance reviews.
• Maintain and improve CSA scores through proactive interventions and safety initiatives.
• Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas of improvement and present reports to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and HR to ensure safety is embedded across all departments.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations, including accidents or incidents involving fleet vehicles.
