Assists journey level Line Mechanics in overhead and underground construction and rigging; installs and maintains energized primary and low voltage systems, 34.5 KV lines, and street lighting systems; performs related ground work; keeps supplies and tools in proper order; operates power driven equipment such as trucks, compressors, pole trailers and skip loaders; completes after-hour classes and receives on-the-job instruction and training to become progressively more skilled and able to work more independently; may be required to perform duties in the handling, cleanup, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Job Requirements:

Ability to operate common tools in mechanical work; learn electrical work in the installation and maintenance of electrical facilities and desire to work as a Line Mechanic in the future; follow oral and written directions; work at heights; learn and employ safe work practices; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, and the public.
