Job Description:

Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Conduct surf zone sampling activities.
Prepare and maintain sampling equipment and supplies including taking inventory, organizing, and labeling sample bottles.
Log and/or receive samples into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Create and maintain chain-of-custodies.
Prepare glassware and labeling of test chambers.
Clean, maintain, repair, and calibrate sampling and laboratory equipment following established procedures and maintenance schedules or when needed.
Order supplies, process samples for long-term preservation, and maintain the literature database and voucher collection.
Perform data entry and tabulation.
Maintain laboratory files and records, including documentation review.
Clean and maintain assigned vehicles including washing and fueling.
Identify, troubleshoot, and correct routine and unexpected problems.
Wash and clean glassware on a routine basis or when instructed.
Perform general housekeeping tasks throughout the workday.
Perform related duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by specialized training or coursework in chemistry, biology, or a related field.
One (1) year of related work experience, including experience in performing basic sampling and laboratory testing.
Valid California Class C Driver's License.
