Job Description:

As Bilingual Russian Patient Advocate, you will serve as the trusted point of contact for Russian-speaking older adults across west LA, Hollywood, and beyond. You will translate and advocate through Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits navigation.

Job Requirements:

Conduct initial assessments with Russian-speaking seniors and families
Translate between English-speaking staff and Russian-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations
Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits
Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate
Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues
Build trust with Russian-speaking communities (including Ukrainian, Belarusian, Moldovan) through outreach

Qualifications:

Native or near-native fluency in Russian AND English; Ukrainian a plus
Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services
Cultural competency with Russian/Eastern European senior communities, including immigrants from former Soviet states
Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language
High school diploma; bachelor’s in social work, public health, or related preferred
