Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ABA Behavior Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a passion for helping them achieve their full potential. This role involves implementing individualized behavior intervention plans for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Work one-on-one with clients in home, school, and community settings.
This is NOT a babysitting job.
This job requires active engagement with the client.
With clients 3-9 years old, this includes engaging in physical activities: running, jumping, squatting down, bending over, playing on the floor.
Collect and record data on child progress and behaviors.
Implement individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs and interventions, including crisis plans, as directed and trained by the supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
This includes teaching communication, social, play, imitation, following instructions and daily living skills.
Write session notes during the last 15 minutes of every session.

Work Experience:
Entry level Behavior Technician: Minimum of 6 month experience working with children (ages 3-9).
Experience in using supportive and motivating approaches.
Experience in adapting to teaching methods and pace to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual needs.
Experience in evaluating an individual's strengths and weaknesses, and tailoring teaching strategies to address the needs.
Experience in planning, organizing and leading play, arts and craft, games and outdoor play activities.
Experience in ensuring a safe and enriching environment.
Experience in creating a detailed schedule, organizing activities and executing the plan.
Senior level Behavior Technician: Minimum of two-year experience working with individuals with disabilities
Experience working with clients in various ages 2-5, 6-9 or 10-12.
Experience in using age-appropriate play and communicative approach that respects the client’s maturity and developmental stage.
Obtains RBT certification for a minimum of one year.
Experience working with both non-vocal and vocal clients.
Non-vocal clients (using PECS, sign language or AAC device) OR vocal clients (using 1-3 word phrases to advance communication skills)
Clients with high-intense behaviors (e.g., aggression, self-injurious behavior, property destruction, elopement) OR less-intense behaviors (e.g., verbal protest, noncompliance).
Clients who require minimal OR substantial support to engage in daily living activities (e.g., toileting, dressing, chores, etc.)
Experience working with clients with both less-intense and high-intense behaviors.
Clients with high-intense behaviors (e.g., aggression, self-injurious behavior, property destruction, elopement) OR less-intense behaviors (e.g., verbal protest, noncompliance).
Experience in various preventive and intervention strategies,
Experience in contriving learning opportunities in NET and DTT.
Experience in integrating physical play, motor or sensory activities into the session.
Experience in using clinical judgment to modify treatment sessions by acknowledging client’s emotional state, strengths and unique personality.
Experience in encouraging independence and generalization of mastered skills across different people and settings.
Experience in collecting immediate and accurate data.
Education Requirements:
Entry level: Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED completed.
Senior level: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, child development, education or other human services.
Transportation Requirements:
Personal means of transportation with a reliable vehicle.
Valid Driver’s License.
Car insurance.
Motor vehicle report review.
Must be willing to travel to and from clients homes, or service locations.
Maximum radius from applicant’s residency: 15 miles
Drive time: up to 40 minutes.
Other Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
Negative TB test results.
Pass a criminal background check.
Ability to stand, sit, twist, kneel, bend over, crouch down, walk, sit/play on the floor for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs without assistance from another adult.
