We are looking for an experienced and organized Accounting / Bookkeeping Specialist to join our company.

This is a hands-on accounting position responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activity of our roofing projects. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, paying close attention to numbers, and keeping each job financially organized from

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25.00 per hour

The Right Person for This Position

We provide training and are always available when clarification is genuinely needed. At the same time, we are looking for someone who takes notes, retains what they learn, uses the resources provided to them, and becomes more independent over time.

This position is best suited for someone who likes structure, pays attention to small details, learns from corrections, and takes initiative to find an answer in their notes or training materials before repeatedly asking the same question.

Accuracy and organization are extremely important in this position because you will be working directly with customer payments, company expenses, subcontractor payments, and sales commissions.

8-hour workday, Monday - Friday
Full-time position, pay biweekly

Main Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Receivable and track customer payments and outstanding balances
Manage Accounts Payable and pay company/vendor invoices
Review and pay subcontractor invoices
Track subcontractor payments and deductions by individual job
Calculate and process salesman commissions
Review job costs before calculating commissions
Track payments, refunds, discounts, credits, and other job-related adjustments
Enter and maintain accurate information in QuickBooks Online
Reconcile payments and transactions
Review jobs for missing payments, incorrect charges, or accounting discrepancies
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Communicate with management, sales representatives, subcontractors, and office staff when accounting information is needed

Job Requirements:

Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience
Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Strong QuickBooks Online experience
Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets
Extremely detail-oriented and organized
Takes clear and organized notes during training
Creates and maintains personal reference notes, checklists, and cheat sheets for recurring processes
Refers back to training materials and notes before asking repeat questions
Able to learn established processes and become increasingly independent with repetition
Works well independently while also being a strong team player
Receptive to feedback and constructive criticism
Communicates professionally and respectfully with coworkers and management
Dependable, accountable, and willing to take ownership of their work
Construction or roofing accounting experience is highly preferred
Experience with job costing, subcontractor payments, or commission-based sales is a major plus
